Geophagus Surinamensis, also known as Red-striped Eartheater, is a fairly peaceful cichlid. The Red-striped Eartheater can get up to 11 inches, but is a slow grower. As adults they are very beautiful fish; they range in colors from bright yellow, blues, reds and almost iridescent. The Red-striped Eartheater will sift through the substrate to find food, so consider the gravel when setting up the tank, it should be small river pebbles or sand.
